The Challenge
Operating a petabyte-scale data environment, Cegeka manages millions of files distributed across numerous customers and industries. Its responsibilities include migrating data across different storage platforms, typically as part of technology refresh projects or to support ongoing service delivery.
Each customer needs to provide detailed, auditable evidence for every migration, with organizations in regulated sectors requiring specific assurance that their data has been transferred 100% correctly.
Many of these highly secure, multi-tenant environments place constraints on how migrations can be performed. Adding to the challenge was that Cegeka’s legacy migration technologies offered limited visibility and control over migration processes, with reliance on native tools necessitating manual effort and coordination across multiple teams. In addition, migration expertise and responsibilities were distributed across teams, increasing the potential for inefficiency and inconsistency.
All of this work takes place in the context of increased data governance and compliance regulations, as well as the inherent complexity of managing and moving data at scale.
