About the Founders

Datadobi’s founders were all instrumental in designing and building EMC Centera®, EMC’s content-addressable storage (CAS) platform. While at EMC, our seasoned management team specialized in object-based storage, high object-count, metadata, data security and integrity, scalability, data migration, and much more.

Management Team

Ian Leysen

Ian has spent his entire career focusing on building quality. Having built 3 QA software engineering organizations from the ground up, Ian ensures that quality is at the core of Datadobi in every aspect, in every way for every customer. Ian has held senior positions at EMC2, MediaGenix and Wave Research. He has a M.Eng in Electronics and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

Ives Aerts

Ives is a senior software architect with over 20 years of experience in engineering product-quality software. He has worked for Sony and EMC2, covering domains such as embedded software, Java Virtual machines, real-time broadcast servers, distributed systems and operating systems. At EMC2, Ives was an integral part of the development for both the core Centera product and the Centera Virtual Archive. Ives has a Master of applied sciences, computing sciences and is a Certified ScrumMaster. He is also the co-author of seven patents on digital video servers.

Kim Marivoet

Kim has provided out-of-the-box technical solutions for the likes of EMC2, Sony and Swift for more than 20 years. Kim does this by exposing both the opportunities and the limitations of software systems ensuring that customers focus on the probable, rather than the wishful, making the end result highly profitable. Kim has a Masters in Computer Science and is a Certified ScrumMaster. He is a co-author of multiple EMC2 patents.

Michael Jack

Michael has more than 25 years under his belt delivering complex IT solutions to companies big and small. At EMC2, Michael was the Senior Program Manager responsible for delivering the CentraStar software releases. He helped to develop Centera into one of the highest quality products in the EMCportfolio through his continual focus on building a best-in-class, multinational delivery team. Michael has also managed projects for the likes of Euroclear, KBC, Telenet, Luminus, Cofinimmo, and government and non-government institutions on four continents. Michael is a Project Management Professional (PMP), is Prince2 certified, and has an Advanced Masters Certificate in Project Management from the George Washington University School of Business.
